The MARDS project addresses one of the most acute problems in Montenegrin and Albanian education systems,
the doctoral studies. Its main objective is to reconstruct them in line with Salzburg Principles and establish
sustainable and modern Pilot Joint Doctoral Schools between two friendly neighbours partner countries that will
serve as an example of “good practice” for the WB Region. At all, to improve and establish sustainable capacities
 in field of doctoral studies in two countries.

  • NEO Monitoring Visit, 08/07.2019, within their regular timing and duties, NEO will do monitoring of MARDS. All interested are welcome.
  • Thematic training in Vienna. First of the four trainings  within MARDS project – Reforming doctoral studies in Montenegro and Albania, is taking a place from 24-28 June at Centre for Doctoral Studies, University of Vienna. This training focuses on „Professional Management of Doctoral Studies“ and its target group is scientific and administrative staff with management responsibilities in doctoral education. It will be attended by the partners from two Montenegrin and four Albanian Universities, with the trainers/experts from European institutions.


  • Call for the training in Dubrovnik (Organised by University of Zagreb), from 04 – 06 September 2019 at the Centre for Advanced Academic Studies in Dubrovnik, Croatia. This training will be organized for supervisors in doctoral education from two universities in Montenegro and four universities in Albania.
    As agreed during the meeting in Kotor, each university should send 2 participants, one of them should be a person already experienced in supervision, and other person can be without or with little experience in supervision. Travel and accommodation expenses will be paid according ERASMUS+ rules.  Pls. send your application to email mards@ucg.ac.me with attached: 1) CV in EuroPass format. 2) Motivation letter with emphasis on the work on supervising PhD students, 3) The list of the doctoral students under suppervission or completed, 4) The list of the publications? The application should be send till 07/07/2019 with Subject "Dubrovnik PhD training".
